The nipples are very sensitive and because they are, does not necessarily mean that you want them to stop. The nipples is where the breastfeeding begins, it is also where your partner can lay on.

But how do you keep the nipples fresh and firm?

First, use exfoliating scrub once a week. The Spa Sanctuary has variety to choose from. To have the nipples clean from every little tiny dirt, you can begin by exfoliating. Use an exfoliating scrub with a massage sponge and gently scrub through. Rinse or wash the nipples and feel the silk feeling on your hands Continue reading »

According to makeup artist Bobbi Brown, wearing foundation is the surest way to achieve smooth skin — whether or not you were born with it.

Want some more good news? Finding a shade to match your skin tone doesn’t have to be rocket science, even when the makeup counter offers zillions of options. (And since foundation is a makeup kit key item, Brown suggests you don’t scrimp on it: “Even if you make all your other makeup purchases at the drugstore, try to purchase your foundation at a department store cosmetics counter, where you can get professional guidance in choosing the right shade, and you can test a color before buying it.”)

When you shop for foundations and concealers, don’t just compare the prices. Also write down how many ounces they give you and figure out the cost per ounce to accurately compare prices. If you don’t do this, the prices can be deceiving. For example, Stila sells a foundation for $40 a tube, but it contains 1.4 oz. Most foundation bottles hold around 1oz., and some .5oz. The Stila foundation works out to $28.57 per ounce. Zhen makes a stick foundation that is $18 for .5oz. That’s $36 an ounce. Zhen’s other foundations at $15.50 and $22.50 per ounce are a better deal. I was thinking of trying L’Oreal’s cream to powder foundation for the summertime. It looked like a decent price until I noticed the net weight. It is $7 for .17 oz. That’s $41 per ounce for a drugstore product! I also suspect that I would use up a cream to powder faster than a liquid foundation. If you can, try to consider how quickly you will go through a particular formula. Beware though, salespeople will always tell you that their product lasts longer than others. My guess is that you would go through a stick foundation quicker than a liquid. You will also go through a liquid foundation faster if you apply it with a sponge rather than your fingers, because a sponge soaks up some of the foundation. Continue reading »

I did a number of different make-up looks for Stephanie, but this is one of my favorites. I went from the girl next door look to the girl next door look, ..Re-vamped! :) ..Can I just borrow those full lips for a day!

Foundation: MAC Face and Body Foundation in N1 and MMU Candle Glow in Pink Pearl: I mixed MMU Candle Glow in Pink Pearl with this foundation. The coverage is very sheer and blends like a dream. The light-reflecting particles in the Candle Glow create a very nice, dewy finish. I dabbed a little Candle Glow just under her brow bone, along the bridge of her nose and a tad on her chin over foundation/candle glow concoction to subtly highlight these areas a little more. I applied this mixture using a dry, latex-free wedge sponge. This eye look requires a lot of shimmer, which can look somewhat tacky if it is not blended well and mixed with just the right amount of matte. To allow these shimmery shades to come through without a hitch, apply an eye primer to even out skin tone on and around the eye area. A good eye primer allows shimmers to hold their true color, the shadows to stay on longer, and the shimmer shadows to come forth much better than applying them directly onto skin. Continue reading »

TO AVOID A HEAVY BASE FOUNDATION
Does your base make-up look heavy? To get a base/foundation that looks natural, choose a colour closest to your natural skin tone. Dilute the foundation with water and apply on face. Alternatively, blend the foundation on your face with a damp sponge. Finish by using a powder that is a shade lighter than the foundation.
Oil-Free Foundations
If you live in a humid city, read this very carefully. A humid climate means that you perspire a lot. And when you perspire a lot, your foundation tends to show. You could of course keep blotting off the sweat. But by the end of the day, your foundation will look heavy and layered. Say hello then to oil-free foundations. They’re light and perfect for humid climates. And if you don’t believe us, listen to John Maxwell, the maker of the immensely popular Makeup Magic video: “I work with thousands of women…each year, and they agree it makes all the difference.” Continue reading »
