To be blunt, America has become fat. I am even one of those individuals who has struggled with my weight for the past 16 years. It has been a battle with weight program after program and one diet to another. But what I have learned is that it is not about going to the gym for an hour and working out like a mad man. Weight loss is not about not eating the foods that I know that are high in fat content and just absolutely love. Losing weight is about finding a program that is right for you and loss the weight in slow and in a healthy manner.

Here are some of the things that have helps me go from 210 pounds to 198 in a matter of eight weeks.

  • First I had to come to the realization that I was not going to lose weight at a high rate. Every time I tried a high impact workout routine, I would go through it and say That is the last time I go through hell., and never return. It was not something that I liked to do. I had to find something that interested me and have fun doing it. So I joined my companys softball team. And not I am getting a small workout twice a week doing something that I just love to do.
  • Take a 20 minute walk. The only time that I used to walk is from the house to the car. From the car to my desk. My desk to the car. Then finally from my car to the couch. This is no way to live and now I try to take at least a quick 20 minute walk before work, during my lunch break and then after I get home from work. That is 60 minutes of walking that I was not getting before and I can just feel the fat melting off me. Plus I enjoying getting out for the fresh air. I am a much happier and less stressful person.
  • Reward yourself for doing a good job. Dieting should not be able cutting all the foods you love and living off celery and lettuce. That is the life of a rabbit, and your body has many needs. I love my southern style burgers. So I have set up a day for reward, and I know that all I need to do is eat my daily requirements for the week and I can have a day for reward. My day for reward is Saturday, and I am allowed to eat just about anything as long as I moderate how much I take in. I have learned how to control my hunger without sacrificing the foods that I love.
