Charlie Green, the famously hip British makeup artist, spends Fashion Week in New York—making Claudia Schiffer gorgeous, catching up with her friend Gisele, and kicking back at McDonald’s. Elizabeth Lamont tries to keep up
8 A.M.: Wakes up (alarmless) in her SoHo apartment. Plays with dog, Foxy, a sleek, fox-look-a-like Shiba Inu, before taking a quick shower. Throws on leopard skin skirt, pale blue cardigan sweater, white tights, 3-inch Sonia Rykiel heels.
9: Takes Foxy for morning walk around Little Italy. Stops in Dean & Deluca for breakfast: large skim latte, doughnut. (“Their doughnuts are incredible—a Brooklyn baker makes about 80 every morning—my favorites are pistachio and coconut.”)
10: Back to apartment. Returns long list of phone calls: agent, bookings editors, friends. Changes into snug vintage skirt and yellow wrap-and-tie top, both recent flea market finds.
11: 30: Subway to midtown. Meeting and model casting (“the more tattoos and chains, the better”) with Slinky Vagabond designer, Keenan. All caught on tape by MTV camera crew for “True Lives”, upcoming special on Keenan and designer Anna Sui.
2:30 P.M.: Returns home to work on look for Slinky show. “I’m after that Quadrophenia/London’s King’s Road/Sex Pistols look.” Tears out pictures of David Bowie, The Clash, Sid Vicious from old magazines. “David Bowie and Iman just moved in across the way—I can see right into their window!”
4:15: Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Rachel Roberts stops by to discuss the look Green’s planning for Roberts’ upcoming SI Swimsuit Issue launch party.
5:45: Takes Foxy out for long, meandering stroll around NoLIta. Stops by 18 Arhens, a Buddhist temple/restaurant/take-out on Center St., orders “Buddha’s Delight” to go. “This place is a vegetarian’s dream.” Home to eat and nap.
9: Swings by Halo, a hip new club in Chelsea, to chat with owner/friend Shiraz about planning Green’s upcoming birthday party. “We’re going all out—it’s going to be a blast.”
12:30 A.M.: Home. Washes face, brushes teeth, falls into bed.
