The Diet Against Water Retention
Swollen hands and feet may be a sign of water retention. The doctor is
able to analyze the causes of the retention but there are certain foods
that may improve the speed of the excess fluid elimination.
The diet should completely exclude salt, and replace it with sodium salt or potassium salt. For instance, asparagus may improve kidney activity and eliminate toxins in the body.
Red beet is a strong diuretic, improves kidney and liver activity, and also has a strong detoxifying effect. Beet may also enhance blood circulation due to the iron, and the chlorine can eliminate the fat deposits.
Cabbage is also a good diuretic, with high amounts of sulphur and iodine. It is indicated for people with fat deposits because it cleans the intestinal and stomachal mucous membranes.
The cucumber is has large amounts of sulphus and silicium, minerals that stimulate renal activity, eliminates the uric acid, and stimulates the burning fat process. The carrot is another detoxifying vegetable due to the beta-carotene.
Garlic and onion are also foods with a diuretic effect that burn fats. The oils found in the garlic are detoxifying while the minerals and organic oils in the onion enhance metabolism and maintains the hydric balance. Eating salads , fruits or consuming juice from fresh fruits regularly may also eliminate the excess of water.
